Guangdong province is not where you expect to find a real ice rink. But when Shenzhen LEDO developed the MELAND SPORT "Interstellar Legend" mega-park in Foshan's Lingnan Tiandi complex, they wanted genuine ice — not synthetic — and they wanted it to perform year-round in one of China's hottest, most humid cities.

Located in Lingnan Tiandi, one of Foshan's premier lifestyle and cultural districts, the MELAND SPORT park features Polar Adventure City, Jungle Grand Crossing, a competition arena, rock climbing walls, and other high-energy attractions — but the real ice rink is the anchor draw that separates it from every other indoor sports park in the region.
The Engineering Challenge
Foshan, Guangdong sits deep in the Pearl River Delta. Summer temperatures hit 35°C+ with relative humidity rarely dipping below 75%. Installing a 500 m² real ice surface inside a 13,000 m² open-plan sports park — where the rink shares airspace with dry zones, climbing walls, and thousands of daily visitors — required careful load calculation, oversized dehumidification, and a refrigeration system tuned for frequent occupancy spikes.
YSSnow delivered the complete ice rink package: refrigeration system, ice mat piping, dasher boards, perimeter insulation, controls, and on-site commissioning. The rink has been in continuous operation since opening day.
