Chongqing Fuxingdao FOLIVE PARK — Indoor Ice & Snow Inside a 13,500 m² Mega Entertainment Venue

Project Case: Chongqing Fuxingdao FOLIVE PARK — Indoor Ice & Snow Inside a 13,500 m² Mega Entertainment Venue

Chongqing is famous for hotpot, not snow. But Shanghai Fuxing Sports saw an opportunity to make ice and snow the headline attraction in a city that almost never drops below freezing, and built FOLIVE PARK — a 13,500 m² all-weather sports and lifestyle destination in the heart of one of China's largest inland cities.

FOLIVE PARK packs an unusually broad range of experiences under one roof — ice sports, snow play, climbing walls, racing simulators, bowling lanes, and sand camping. The ice and snow zone is the anchor that turns a multi-sport facility into a true destination, especially for families in a region where real ice is still a novelty.

The Chongqing Factor

Chongqing sits in the Sichuan Basin — mountains all around, humidity trapped inside. Summer temperatures routinely exceed 38°C with humidity staying above 70%. Cooling a room to 22°C is one thing. Maintaining a frozen ice surface inside a large, high-traffic, multi-zone entertainment venue in that climate is an entirely different challenge.

YSSnow provided the ice and snow attraction design and equipment package: refrigeration system sizing based on local climate data and projected visitor loads, ice mat engineering, dehumidification coordination with the building's HVAC system, and on-site commissioning support. The system was designed from the start to handle the thermal and moisture conditions unique to the Sichuan Basin.

What This Shows

Not every developer needs a standalone ice rink. Some want ice and snow as part of a larger entertainment mix — integrated into a venue that does five other things at the same time. That is exactly the kind of project where getting the ice system right becomes harder, because the refrigeration and dehumidification have to work around everything else going on in the building. FOLIVE PARK has been operating successfully since launch, proving the system design holds up in one of China's toughest climates for indoor ice.
Adding ice or snow to a multi-attraction venue?

We handle the full system — from load calculation and equipment sizing through installation and commissioning — whether it is a standalone rink or part of a larger entertainment complex. Reach out for a preliminary technical proposal.
